More muscle = Less fat (it’s science)

A simple equation in biology.

The more muscle you have, the more fat you will burn.  Muscle is the very centre of your bodys metabolism process where fats and carbohydrates are broken down into, essentially, energy.  The more of it y0u’ve got, the more energy you will produce (the more CALORIES YOU WILL BURN), and less bodyfat you will have.

Any fat loss program needs to aim for an increase in lean muscle mass, purely for the metabolic effect it has on the body.  This is NOT a new concept.

I was interested to read about a recent study that confirms this..

Researchers from the University of Hawaii genetically grew highly muscled mice, and found that their fat cells produced higher amounts of a protein associated with fat burning.

Not only does lean muscle permanently raise the body’s metabolism (burning more fat), it DIRECTLY influences fat cells to keep them small!
